Video about COVID-19

Dr. Kanta Kumar Lecturer in Advanced Clinical Practice at the University of Birmingham and Dr. Shirish Dubey, Consultant Rheumatologist at Oxford University Hospitals Foundation Trust, have recorded a video Q&A in Hindi in collaboration with the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society, to help members of the UK's Asian community keep themselves and their families safe from COVID-19.

So that health professionals know what the video is covering, it asks the following questions:

  1. What is COVID-19 and symptoms?
  2. If I am experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 what should I do?
  3. What if I am fully well – what should I do?
  4. What if no one is around to help me – what should I do?

In Q1 Dr. Dubey explains what COVID-19 is and the evidence of symptoms

In Q2 Dr. Dubey explains how to isolate if symptoms present. He talks about the importance of hygiene and social distancing. He talks about what one should do if living in an extended family.

In Q3 Dr. Dubey talks about social distancing and the importance of staying apart from others. He covers the advice if the person has any underling condition or is taking immune suppressant medications to observe 12 weeks of self-isolation. He sign-posts people to various websites and discusses the letters being sent out by rheumatology departments.

In Q4 Dr. Dubey explains if isolating and there is no-one to help, one should seek help from temples or ring the local radio station who have a list of volunteers and again he sign-posts to websites

In the final message he reminds everyone of the need to say stay at home look after one self – “we are in it together and we are working hard to fight it. Together we will fight it.”
