NRAS Ambassador - Wales

Could you be an NRAS Ambassador in Wales?

In  Wales, we operate a Campaigns Network made up of our NRAS Ambassadors. This network is a means for NRAS to be present on the ground in Wales, recognising that with only one office in Maidenhead, Berkshire, we are otherwise a little remote.

Since 2013, our Welsh Campaigns Network of NRAS Ambassadors have been gathering information on the state of play for people with Rheumatoid Arthritis and campaigning for necessary improvements, supported by our staff team based just down the M4 in Berkshire.

Highlights have included several drop-in sessions and report launches in the Welsh Assembly, attending conferences and roundtables and building relationships with patients and professionals across the country.

We now seek additional ambassadors to help move forward with a busy programme in 2017 and beyond.

In December 2016, we partnered with the British Society for Rheumatology to produce a new report: Rheumatology in Wales, The State of Play (see report). A major part of our 2017 programme will be encouraging politicians and other key decision makers to act on the recommendations in this report.

For further information or to arrange to speak with an existing ambassador, contact Conn O’Neill, Policy & Public Affairs Manager on conn@nras.org.uk or 01628 823524.
