NRAS Ambassador - Scotland
Could you be an NRAS Ambassador in Scotland?
In Scotland, we operate a Campaigns Network made up of our NRAS Ambassadors. This network is a means for NRAS to be present on the ground in Scotland, recognising that with only one office in Maidenhead, Berkshire, we are otherwise a little remote.
Highlights since the network was launched in 2011 have included the completion of a systematic programme of visits to almost every rheumatology unit in Scotland to raise the profile of NRAS; several parliamentary events including drop-ins and report launches and in Autumn 2016, ‘the Gathering’ of people with RA from across Scotland.
We are now looking to expand the team and move forward with a busy programme in 2017 and beyond.
In September, we launched 'Who Cares? A report on the health and perceived social care needs of people living with RA in Scotland' (see report). Part of our 2017 programme will be encouraging politicians and other key decision makers to act on the recommendations in this report.
