Winter 2009: 4 West Kennedy Clinical Trials Unit, led by Professor Peter Taylor, is based within Charing Cross Hospital, which is part of the Imperial College NHS Trust. A new and spacious unit, it provides patients with a relaxed, friendly and informative atmosphere.

The Rheumatology Adult Service in the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust is situated over 3 hospital sites. Musgrave Park houses a 30 bedded inpatient unit along with the 21 bedded Day case / Biologic Unit. The outpatient services are in the two large acute hospitals in central Belfast, the Belfast City Hospital and Royal Victoria Hospital.

The Nottingham University Hospital Children and Young People’s Rheumatology Service is based at the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham. The service supports a wider network, which provides care for Children and Young People across the whole of the East Midlands (Nottinghamshire, the majority of Lincolnshire, parts of Cambridgeshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire and South Yorkshire).



Rheumatology at the Interface The Staffordshire Rheumatology Centre at the Haywood Hospital, Stoke on Trent

The rheumatology centre was established in the early 1970's and covers a population of over 500,000 people. The Haywood is a community hospital that specialises in chronic disease management. It is based within a Primary Care Trust although the consultant staff are employed within the acute hospital trust and are part of the Locomotor Directorate with Orthopaedics.

Cannock Chase Hospital, opened in 1992, and is located in Cannock which is at the junction of the M6 and M6 toll roads. We are part of the Mid Staffs Acute Hospital NHS Trust. Our larger sister hospital is based in Stafford and together we provide a wide range of adult and paediatric services to our local population.
