Dr Helen Venning is a Consultant Paediatric Rheumatologist working in the University Hospital, Nottingham. She trained in Paediatric Rheumatology with Dr Barbara Ansell at Taplow Memorial Hospital, Northwick Park Hospital, and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children in London.

Dr Venning has been running a Paediatric Rheumatology Service in Nottingham for over 20 years. She has developed a regional Network with Outreach Clinics to support local care for young people and their families . She has a particular interest in the community care of children with arthritis and other disabilities. Dr Venning was a founder member of the group that has evolved into BSPAR (British Society of Paediatric & Adolescent Rheumatology ).She remains actively involved in clinical care, service development ,research, and the training of Tomorrows Paediatric Rheumatologists .
