Dr. Richard Watts

Dr Richard A Watts was born and educated in North London. He qualified from Oxford University medical school and did his early rheumatology training and research at the Middlesex Hospital with Professor David Isenberg. Subsequently he moved to East Anglia and finished his training at Addenbrooke’s Hospital and the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital.
In 1994 he was appointed consultant rheumatologist to Ipswich Hospital where he maintains a busy clinical practice. In 2005 he was appointed a senior lecturer in the School Of Medicine Health Policy and Practice at the University of East Anglia. Between 2002 and 2008 he was editor in chief of rheumatology, and is currently Chair of the Heberden Committeee of the British Society for Rheumatology and a Trustee of the Society.
