Job title: Trusts & Grants Fundraiser
Reporting to: Fundraising Manager
Location: Unit B4, Westacott Business Centre, Maidenhead, SL6 3RT
Hours: Full time 9.30 to 5.30, 1 hour for lunch, Monday to Friday (35 hours)
Rate of Pay: In the region of £22-24,500
Job Summary:
The Trust & Grant Fundraiser will be part of the fundraising team (4 people) and report to the Fundraising Manager, to establish a strong base of trust support to contribute towards our target of reaching an income of £1.4m by 2013.
Working with the Fundraising Manager, the Trust & Grant Fundraiser will be responsible for identifying and researching suitable trusts to apply to and monitoring reapplications for those which already support us, writing compelling cases for support, follow up reporting and maintaining database and paper records and recording of information for monthly reports (in-house) and monitoring income against budget. The role will also involve working on the development and maintenance of the charity’s legacy campaign.
The Fundraising strategy is in place and trust income is a vital part of this as the charity expands. The Trust & Grant Fundraiser will be responsible for contributing to this development and strategy as we move forward.
Principal Activities:
- Develop a strong trust and grant fundraising base to support the charity as it grows
- Write compelling applications to secure new and follow on funding
- Develop relationships with key funders to secure ongoing support
- Nurture relationships with existing patrons to ensure ongoing support
- Identify potential new patrons and develop relationships to secure their support
- Manage a clear reporting structure to ensure all follow up reports are sent on time
- Identify new funding opportunities and act upon these
- Work with the Fundraising Manager to develop and maintain the charity’s legacy campaign
- Ensure statistics and information from each part of the charity is up to date for use in applications
- Prepare reports, statistics and produce tables and graphs for monthly reports
- Be responsible for ensuring all donor records are updated and maintained on the database
- Support the Fundraising Manager in the development and administration of the fundraising strategy
Other Activities:
- Participating in NRAS team training and contribute to team activities
- Contributing to the day to day operation of the fundraising team
- Undertaking any other work requested by a manager
- Be prepared to travel if required

- Some knowledge of legacy campaign development
- Some fundraising experience desirable
- Good IT Skills- Word, Excel, Email
- Good database knowledge
- Good spoken English
- Excellent written English
- Excellent numeracy skills
- Willingness to be trained
- A good telephone manner
- Ability to communicate at all levels
- Car owner (due to office location & travel)
- Willing to work out of hours if required (evening & weekend events)
