Job title: Donor Development Executive
Reporting to: Fundraising Manager
Location: Unit B4, Westacott Business Centre, Maidenhead, SL6 3RT
Hours: Full time 9.30 to 5.30, 1 hour for lunch, Monday to Friday (35 hours)
Rate of Pay: In the region of £22-24,500

Job Summary:
The Donor Development Executive will be part of the fundraising team (4 people) and report to the Fundraising Manager, developing our existing database of supporters and  recruiting new supporters to contribute towards our target of reaching an income of £1.4m by 2013.

Working with the Fundraising Manager, the Donor Development Executive will be responsible for developing a development strategy and implementing a communications programme to include regular donors, in memoriams, legacy giving, corporate partnerships, one off donors, event supporters, community supporters and our supporter membership scheme.

The Fundraising strategy is in place and donor development and retention is a vital part of this as the charity expands. The Donor Development Executive will be responsible for contributing to this development and strategy as we move forward.


Principal Activities:
  • Develop a donor development strategy to retain existing donors and recruit new donors to cover all income streams
  • Develop newly established income streams to include payroll giving and tribute funds
  • Assist in developing the charity’s young legacy campaign
  • Develop and implement a communications programme including bulk emails, e-newsletters and appeals
  • Prepare reports, statistics and produce tables and graphs for monthly reports
  • Be responsible for ensuring all donor records are updated and maintained on the database
  • Support the Fundraising Manager in the development and administration of the fundraising strategy

Other Activities:
  • Participating in NRAS team training and contribute to team activities
  • Contributing to the day to day operation of the fundraising team
  • Make presentations to potential donor audiences
  • Undertaking any other work requested by a manager
  • Be prepared to travel if required

  • Some knowledge of legacy giving
  • Broad fundraising experience desirable

  • Good database knowledge

  • Good numeracy skills
  • Willingness to be trained
  • A good telephone manner
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • Car owner (due to office location & travel)
  • Willing to work out of hours if required (evening & weekend events)
