Reduced pain with strength training
Taken from NRAS magazine, New Year 2010

A new study of people with RA taking the anti-TNF drug infliximab has confirmed the results of earlier research that showed strength training is beneficial for people with RA. This new study found that people who took part in a strength training programme benefited from a 53 per cent reduction in pain and a 46 per cent improvement in strength. People did exercises such as leg presses, hammer curls and incline dumbbell presses three times a week.
