People on Enbrel stay in work longer

A study involving over 500 people, called the COMET study, looked at the effect of methotrexate on its own compared to methotrexate taken with Enbrel (etanercept) on work productivity. The results after one year showed that people with active early RA receiving the methotrexate-Enbrel combination were almost three times less likely to stop working compared to people having methotrexate alone. Absenteeism from work was also reduced, by almost 50% for people taking methotrexate and Enbrel.
