JIA indication and extension of dose range for Metoject®

Metoject® (50mg/ml prefilled syringes of methotrexate) is indicated for active rheumatoid arthritis in adults, but now can be prescribed for children as young as three.  This is because injectable methotrexate formulation has been approved for the treatment of polyarthritic forms of severe, active juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) that have failed to respond adequately to NSAIDs.

Also, from October, Metoject® has been available in a 30mg/0.6ml dose.  This extends the existing range of 7.5mg/0.15ml, 10mg/0.2ml, 15mg/0.3ml, 20mg/0.4ml and 25mg/0.5ml.
