New Humira® Pen on its Way
Taken from NRAS magazine, Winter 2006

A new and convenient way of administering the anti-TNF agent Humira can help make self-injecting simpler and less painful for Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) patients. The Humira Pen, which will be available in the UK from February 2007, offers an alternative to the existing pre-filled syringe. In a recent trial, 9 out of 10 patients preferred the Pen over the pre-filled syringe.
The arrival of the Pen will increase the options for RA management, with trial results showing that patients rated the Pen less painful, less time consuming and more convenient compared to the pre-filled syringe. The new Pen will make self-delivery of Humira considerably easier for RA patients.
